INTERFERENCE FESTIVAL
Exposición internacional organizado por Stichting Idee-fixe en colaboración con IN-SONORA. El sonido así como la luz, son ondas que interfieren unos con otros. Esta reacción da un único y, a menudo impredecible patrón de ondas. Esos patrones son la base de esta exposición. Pretente que el espectador sea sorprendido por diversas instalaciones que hacen uso de luz y sonido. Se plantea como una muestra internacional en el que se dan cabida 17 instalaciones.
La muestra contará con dos inauguraciones, una primera el viernes 23 de enero y permanecerá abierto hasta el 29 de marzo y una segunda coincidiendo con la Noche de la Cultura Holandesa desarrollada este año en Breda que se inaugurará el 28 de febrero del 2009.

Mosquito Device

Instalación de un Mosquito Device, un aparato autónomo con la finalidad de ahuyentar a niños y jóvenes con potenciales conductas antisociales. Funciona bajo el principio de que la capacidad del oído humano para detectar altas frecuencias tiende a disminuir con la edad por lo que los mayores quedan exentos del displacer que produce esta señal sonora. Se estima que los “Mosquitos” ya están instalados en unas 3.500 tiendas comerciales, en varias ciudades británicas y hasta en ciertos espacios públicos para dispersar las reuniones de jóvenes y evitar potenciales actos de vandalismo. The «Mosquito» is a device that emits a very disagreeable high frequency sound that only the 25-year-old minors can hear.
*The effects are not known on the health those who listen to it, but a great percentage of interviewed has commented that after listening to it they feel «headache, general discomfort , uneasiness, sadness, disturb, oppression in the chest».
*Its objective is to disperse the young people of its habitual places of meeting (public squares, outside of commercial centers, etc.).
*Since the ends of year 2005, they have installed 3500 devices of this type in Great Britain, without any type of resistance of the human rights organizations. The society has not reacted either.
